IS FLUORIDATED WATER SAFE TO CONSUME DAILY?

From concerned moms to conspiracy theorists, an in increasing number of people now question how healthy it is to drink fluoride on a regular basis. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)3 classifies fluoride as a “drug” when used to prevent disease. This classification causes some to believe that water fluoridation is in itself unethical due to the lack of “informed consent” by those who consume it. These citizens aren’t just concerned that fluoride is being administered to everyone, regardless of age, health or medical vulnerabilities.

They’re also worried that there’s no way to control and monitor individual doses, as some people drink more water than others. There are others concerned about fluoride’s role in myriad other health issues, such as perpetuating kidney disease. These concerns, however disputable, have in recent years, caused India, China, and several other prominent countries to end their own water fluoridation programs.
